5-6-7-8 Dance Studio

Our Dance Studio offers a variety of dance classes for all skill levels for ages 2 - Adult! 


Our professional dance instructors are dedicated to sharing their knowledge and passion for dance, helping each dancer achieve their highest potential in a fun, safe, family friendly environment!

We are confident that there is a dance class for you here at 5-6-7-8 Dance Studio! 

PRE-BALLET Ages 2-4

Pre-Ballet I (Age 2)

Your tiny-dancer will enjoy this creative movement based ballet class. Proper technique is taught through creative dances and imagination. Bringing together kids with songs, rhymes and actions lets them discover how to interact and connect with others. Children learn new things like sounds, words, and patterns through music. These activities are great for development, balance and coordination.

Pre-Ballet II (Age 3-4)

Your pre-ballet dancer will enjoy this creative movement based ballet class. Proper technique is taught through creative dances and imagination. Bringing together kids with songs, rhymes and actions lets them discover how to interact and connect with others. Children learn new things like sounds, words, and patterns through music. These activities are great for development, balance and coordination.

BALLET Ages 5 - Adult

Ballet Beg/Inter (Age 5 & up)

We offer ballet classes from 30 min to 90 min for the beginner, intermediate, Advanced and pre-professional dancer.  Students will learn proper ballet technique while learning ballet steps, proper terminology, and definitions. As the dancers grow they will continue to apply the basic technique to all they learn in class. More advanced classes will focus on barre work, center exercises, across the floor combination, pointe prep exercises, and ballet variations. Students continue to focus on proper technique, alignment, ballet terminology and definitions. We strive to provide the highest-quality classical ballet.

PRE-JAZZ Ages 7-8

Pre-jazz (Ages 7-8)

This is a lively class that builds a foundation for integration into Jazz. A young dancer will be introduced to the terminology, elements, understand the speed at which jazz moves and learn the body alignment necessary to perform the elements and stretches in jazz, even incorporating games that reinforce the jazz technique. Fun, fun, fun!

JAZZ Ages 8 - Adult

Jazz Ages (8 & up)

Jazz is a high energy class that teaches the fundamentals of classic jazz including the development of body alignment, coordination, balance and rhythmic awareness. Learning correct terminology and technique while having a blast in class!

MINI HIP HOP Ages 5-7

Mini Hip Hop (Age 5-7)

Mini Hip Hop is geared towards children ages 5-7. In these classes, we introduce our young dancers to Hip Hop style and choreography. Students learn, fast movements, technique, basic music listening skills and technique to fun up-beat music! This is a fun, exciting and energetic class!

TAP Ages 5 - Adult 

Tap class (Age 5 & up)

This class is for the beginner to advanced tap dancer. Tap classes are designed to develop rhythm, style and sound. Young dancers will begin working on basic movement and sounds, rhythm and coordination. As the dancer advance the will begin learning a variety of tap styles from Broadway to rhythm tap. Exercises focus on building flexibility of the knee and ankles, coordination, and speed of movement while growing in musicality.

LYRICAL Ages 10 - Adult

Lyrical (Ages 10 & up)

Lyrical dance combines elements of ballet and jazz to create a soft style that emphasizes the storytelling quality of music. An emphasis is placed on grace and fluidity musicality and expressiveness to capture emotion through movement. 

HULA/TAHITIAN Ages 8 - Adult

Hula (Ages 8 & up)

Hawaiian dance is called Hula and Tahitian dance is called 'Ori Tahiti. Many people mistake the Tahitian dance, 'Ori Tahiti, for Hawaiian dance, Hula, or assume they are both the same style, but each of these dances are from different Polynesian islands and have their own entities. Both styles of dances are Polynesian but each style is unique. Hula dance usually uses the arm movements for the symbolism encompassing the entire body with hands telling the story while Tahitian dance involves more hip movements for the story-telling.

Tahitian (Ages 14 & up)

Hip Hop is a high-energy class that focuses on body awareness, coordination, grooves, and patterning. Hip Hop infuses the latest styles of street dancing, breaking, popping and locking. Classes will encourage students to step outside of the box by bringing their own individual style and personality to the movements.

Competition Team

Competition Team

Our competition team meets throughout the summer and begins choreography classes in September. The team will compete locally in WI and IL at 3-5 competitions between the March and May. 

It is our goal that our competition team is balanced with the sense of achievement and accomplishment while expanding their knowledge and love for dance; increasing self-confidence and self-esteem. Our program is focused on proper dance technique and terminology studying various styles of dance with Ballet and Strength/Conditioning being required classes.

 

We hope to encourage the development of life skills such as commitment, discipline, dedication,  sportsmanship, team work and responsibility through the challenges and experiences provided in a team setting. We strive to give the students the opportunity to express themselves and grow in a positive, challenging and fun environment!

ADULT Dance Classes

 

Adult dance classes are offered in all genres. Each year we have many adults that take classes such as ballet, tap, jazz, and hip hop. Classes customized for the beginner, intermediate and advanced dancers!

Strength/Conditioning Ages  8 - Adult

Strength/Conditioning (Ages 8 - up)

This is a workout class that uses specific exercises to improve physical performance of athletes. This class will help with balance, flexibility and strength behind movement. Strength and Conditioning will not only teach you the correct terms and what to do but also how to apply it too! 
Working on core strength, flexibility, posture, turnout, and muscular development. The class focuses on technique, body awareness, body alignment, and engaging and releasing muscle tension. This is a great class for dancers to take in addition to ballet, jazz, and their other favorite dance classes!

Musical Theater

Musical Theater (Age 8 - up)

Musical Theatre is a form of theatrical performance that combines songs, spoken dialogue, acting and dance. The story and emotional content of a musical - humor, love, anger - are communicated through words, music, movement and technical aspects of the entertainment as an integrated whole. Classes incorporate the style of dance one would typically see on a Broadway stage. This form of dancing emphasizes learning performance skills such as connecting with the audience and facial expressions. Our Musical Theater class is great for students who want to be or are currently in musicals at schools or performing in Spotlight on Kids through JPAC, gain more confidence in all areas of dance, creativity, confidence, and acting. It will be a little bit of dancing, acting, singing, spoken dialogue, and a whole lot of fun!

CONTEMPORARY Ages 14 - Adult

Contemporary (Age 14 & up)

Contemporary dance encourages dancers to be versatile in their expressions and to be able to portray a wide array of movement styles and emotions. It focuses on spatial body awareness, use of body weight, floor work, technique, efficiency of muscle usage, musicality and safe body alignment.

ACRODANCE Ages 3 - Adult

 

AcroDance (Ages 3 - up)

Mini AcroDance (Age 3-6)

Your little dancer will enjoy this creative movement based AcroDance class. Proper alignment and balance is taught through creative dances and imagination. Bringing together kids with songs, rhymes and actions lets them discover how to interact and connect with others. Children learn new things like sounds, words, and patterns through music. These activities are great for development, balance and coordination. Students will work on basic acrobatic technique including beginning tumbling, flexibility, proper form and balance. In this class students will learn and perform a dance based routine combining basic acrobatic elements.

AcrDance (Age 7-up)

This 45 minute class is for beginners to advanced students. Students will work on basic acrobatics technique including beginning tumbling, conditioning, flexibility, proper form and strengthening and continues to help prepare for increased difficulty. Acrobatic tricks are meant to blend in seamlessly with dance steps, providing an extra level of excitement and flair to dance choreography. In this class students will learn and perform a routine combining both dance and acrobatic elements.
