Pre-Ballet (ages 3-4)

This class is especially designed for our younger students. Students learn basic body movements and expression working with rhythm and coordination. Pink ballet shoes are required.

This class is 30 minutes

Ballet (age 5 & up)

Dance classes are geared to the appropriate age group. As students get older and are ready for more technique and discipline, we focus more on barre work. This begins to prepare students for pointe class. Ballet/Pointe has been around for   more then 325 years and was developed principally in Italy, France and Russia. Ballet terminology is French. The use of turnout of the legs, and pointed feet that extend the line of the leg, the fluid round arms, and the highly evolved technique has developed discipline, strength, speed, flexibility, grace and style to make ballet look effortless with charm and grace. Pink ballet shoes required.

This class is 30 minutes for ages 3-10, 45 minutes age for ages 11-13, and 1 hour for ages 13-14 and up

Pointe (ages 13 to 14 & up)

Pointe is for the advanced ballet student. Students can start on pointe shoes when they are 13-14 because this is when their bones, ligaments, and muscles are developed. It requires several years of technical training to develop the back, thighs, and insteps to perform pointe well. Ballet experience is required before students can enroll in pointe. Professionally fitted pointe shoes required.

This class is 1 hour

Tap (ages 5 & up)

This is the dance of sound and rhythm. It is an art of blending the clear delicate sounds of properly trained feet with beautiful body movements, a rhythmic beat, and phrasing of the music. Shoes have taps on the toes and the heels both providing different sounds to make different rhythms to music. Black tap shoes required.

This class is 30 minutes

Jazz (ages 7 & up)

Jazz has many varied styles and syncopated rhythms of movement. Jazz can be lyrical, funk, modern, hip hop or percussive. Jazz uses each part of the body both individually and together. Ballet background is very helpful. Black jazz shoes required.

This class is 30 minutes for beginning to intermediate, 45 minutes for the advanced student

Hip Hop (age 5 & up)

Hip Hop is a new style of jazz with street flair. Hip Hop is defined by sharp, isolated movements with a mix of street dancing. Black jazz shoes required.

This secondary class is 30 minutes

Lyrical (ages 10 & up)

Lyrical is a blend of ballet and jazz in which a dancer portrays the story if a song using symbolic movements and facial expression in an interpretive style. Lyrical is an excellent dance discipline. Pink ballet or lyrical shoes required.

This secondary class is 30 minutes

AcroDance (ages 6 & up)

AcroDance is a style of dance that combines classical dance technique with precision acrobatic elements. It is defined by its athletic character, its unique choreography, which seamlessly blends dance and acrobatics, and its use of acrobatics in a dance context. Ballet is required to take along with the AcroDance class. Black jazz shoes required.

This secondary class is 30 minutes for beginning to intermediate, 45 minutes for the advanced student

Hula (ages 7 & up)

Hula (Hawaiian) is from the beautiful pacific islands, a specialized from Hawaii. It is a graceful combination of swaying hips and lovely hand movements that move together to tell a story. Ballet or jazz shoes required to use in class.

This secondary class is 30 minutes

Tahitian (ages 13 & up)

Tahitian is very similar to Hula but is usually much faster. Tahitian typically uses real grass skirts and grass Eee Eee’s in many bright color choices. Ballet or jazz shoes required to use in class.
